- Check that the entire base of the putter sits on the ground, if it does then the club fits you
- Check the tempo of your swing. As a general guideline, those with a less rhythmic swing will need a heavier head, while players with a rhythmic swing will use lighter heads
- You should also take into account their physical characteristics. Generally, heavier heads will be needed for heavier players
- Select a light putter for a fast green and a heavy one on a slow green
